Dog stolen in home burglary

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON – A man is looking for his dog after his home was burglarized.

On Monday Denzel Cole returned to his apartment near Grant Road and 1st Avenue. His door was forced open with the deadbolt on the ground. When he learned his dog was missing, he was not worried about all the stolen electronics.

“That I’m OK with, and I’m fine,” Cole said. “But to come back and just see my dog, like a young puppy, doesn't really have much value to anyone else, it just kind of makes you feel unsafe and uncertain.”

The dog was in a crate which was also missing.

“It’s like someone coming in and taking one of your kids,” Cole said.

The dog is a 1-year-old Siberian husky named Riku.

Anybody with information can call the Tucson Police Department.
