Closures planned for I-19/Ajo Way interchange this weekend

TUCSON, Ariz. - Drivers should plan for travel restrictions in the area of Interstate 19 and Ajo Way this weekend.

The following restrictions will be in place from 9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 13, to 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 16,:

  • Northbound and southbound I-19 will be closed at Ajo Way. Drivers will use the Ajo Way on and off ramps as detours.
  • Ajo Way will be closed between 16th and Kostka Avenues. Only local traffic will have access to local businesses and residences. There will not be access to I-19. Drivers can use Mission, Irvington, and Drexel as alternates.
  • The westbound I-10 to southbound I-19 connecting ramp will be closed. Drivers should use southbound Sixth Avenue to westbound Irvington to southbound I-19.
