Woman dies from injuries suffered in southside crash

A woman who was seriously injured in a crash on the city's southside this weekend, has died.

The crash happened on Saturday, Oct. 7th, at the intersection of S. Midvale Park Rd. and S. Oak Tree Drive.  Tucson Police say a blue Chevrolet Cobalt was westbound on South Oak Tree Drive.  It made a southbound turn onto South Midvale Park Road in front of a tan Ford Explorer, where they collided.

The driver of the Chevy Cobalt, 72-year old Amelia Gardner, who suffered serious injuries at the time of the crash, died on Wednesday Oct. 11th at Banner University Medical Center.

Police say she was responsible for the collision, and no other charges, will be filed.
