No end to the 90s

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - Mother Nature's in cruise control.

High pressure over the Southeastern US keeps any weather of significance away from Arizona, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Mostly sunny skies prevail this afternoon as highs run 7-9° above average. Metro Tucson peaks in the mid 90s today, followed by lows in the mid 60s.

The string of 90° days looks to continue through early next week. Starting this weekend, high pressure slides toward Northern Mexico, keeping the storm track north of the state. Ample sunshine is locked in for the foreseeable future.

Of note, Tucson's average high in mid October is around 85-87°. Long range computer models show no signs of a pattern change over the next 7-10 days.

Watch Jeff for a complete look at your 4WARN extended forecast today at noon. Follow Jeff's weather updates on FacebookTwitter and his blog.
