The Arizona Attorney General’s office is asking for the public’s help in locating a convicted drug trafficker who is currently on the run from law enforcement, according to an AZ Attorney General’s Office news release.

Mario Sergio Dorame was found guilty by a Pima County Superior Court jury on September 21, 2017 of transporting more than 70 lbs. of cocaine, conducting a criminal enterprise, and conspiracy, according to court records.

Dorame appeared at pre-trial hearings, but fled shortly before his trial began in September 2017, according to the release. All law enforcement efforts to find Dorame have been unsuccessful and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Dorame’s charges stemmed from a November 2016 incident in which he was driving his truck westbound on Interstate 10 in Pima County and was pulled over for a traffic violation, according to the news release. An Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper found more than 70 lbs. of cocaine inside of a hidden compartment in Dorame’s truck.

Dorame was arrested that day, but released from Pima County Jail without bond, the release stated.

This was not the first time Dorame transported drugs in Arizona, according to the news release.

In July 2012, Dorame was arrested for transporting 279 lbs. of marijuana in his vehicle. He pleaded guilty in federal court and was sentenced to a short prison term, the release stated.

Dorame’s was also found guilty of theft of means of transportation in Cochise County in 2010, the release added.

Anyone with information about Dorame’s whereabouts should immediately call their local law enforcement agency.
