Khalil Tate picks up National Awards

Posted: Updated:

Arizona quarterback Khalil Tate won the Walter Camp Player of the Week after his 327-yard record-setting performance against Colorado in a 45-42 Arizona win Saturday.

Tate's final line of 14 carries, 327 yards and four touchdowns as also good enough to garner him National Player of the Week from CBS Sports, National Offensive Player of the Week from Athlon Sports and National Performer of the Week from the College Football Performance Awards. The 327 yards is the most rushing yards by an NCAA FBS quarterback ever, breaking the record of 321 set by Northern Illinois' Jordan Lynch in 2013.

Tate also threw for 154 yards on 12 completions in 13 attempts.

Tate came into the game in the first quarter after starter Brandon Dawkins was injured.
