Fall colors popping in Arizona

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - Despite the warm temperatures on the valley floor, fall colors are showing up in the higher elevations.

It's starting to feel and look like fall across the higher elevations of Arizona with the aspens starting to show their gold and the maples red.

Coconino National Forest tweeted these photos of the fall color sprouting along the Mogollon Rim east of the Flagstaff area:

Apache Sitgreaves National Forest also posted a tweet of the fall colors in that district which is closer to the Show Low area:

There are also some colors showing up on Mt. Lemmon with peak color likely a couple of weeks away.
