PHOENIX (AP) - The Arizona Lottery is offering refunds or exchanges for certain tickets after a machine that generates the winning numbers selected the same set for consecutive games.
The Arizona Republic reported (http://bit.ly/2z3aNjO ) on Thursday that lottery officials are investigating and the machine was taken out of use after a glitch affected four different games played on a six-day period beginning last week.
State lottery officials say one of the three Random Number Generators, which are not connected to a network or an online system, is selected at random to choose the winning numbers for the games. The same machine was chosen to select the numbers on four days.
The machine generated numbers for one game and then duplicated the numbers in a subsequent game. This occurred several times with different games.
