Centennial Hall through October 8.  The Musical tells the story of King’s rise to stardom, from being part of a hit songwriting team with her husband Gerry Goffin, to her relationship with fellow writers, to becoming one of the most successful solo acts in popular music history. Along the way, she made more than beautiful music, she wrote the soundtrack to a generation.

 The Tucson Symphony Orchestra is presenting a Masterworks Concert this weekend featuring works by Mozart & Mendelssohn. The performances are at the St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, and are set for Friday and Saturday October 6 & 7 at 7:30 pm and Sunday October 8 at 2 pm. Tickets are available in advance or at the door.

Ballet Tucson’s Opening Night Gala is this Friday night at the Stevie Eller Dance Theatre on the University of Arizona campus. The evening starts at 6:30 with the performances set to start at 8 pm. The program features the Arizona premiere of a new ballet, The Phantom of the Opera and other works. The program will be presented again twice on Saturday (at 2 pm and 7:30 pm) and on Sunday at 1 pm. Don’t miss this annual kick-off to the dance season by Ballet Tucson.
