The Arizona Department of Education has announced grades for all Vail School District schools, according to a district press release.
“We are proud to announce that all Vail Schools have received ‘A’ or ‘B’ labels,” the release stated. “This is a huge accomplishment.”
The framework for school grades was recently approved by the State Board of Education, according to the release. Before that, a criterion for the labels was unknown.
“The school grades provide assurance that Vail has remained on track even when the target was not clear,” the release added.
“Some ‘B’ schools missed the ‘A’ by the narrowest of margins,” the release stated. “As we continue to focus on the success of each student, we have every confidence that Vail will remain a top performing school district.”
The district also announced that Acacia Elementary School has joined Mesquite Elementary in being named a National Blue Ribbon School.
This year, only four other schools across the entire State received this high honor, according to the release. “We heartily and proudly congratulate the staff, students, and parents at Acacia.”
