Just when you thought the 100s were done...

TUCSON - Since 1894, the Old Pueblo has recorded 28 October days at or above 100°. Chances are we add to that total today.

Daytime highs peak in the 100s for much of Metro Tucson, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. This would mark the first October 100° day in two years. In addition, today's forecast high of 100° would be a degree shy of tying the record set back in 1917.

As Tucson heats up, areas along the Arizona/New Mexico border could see an isolated shower or storm this afternoon. Mostly sunny skies prevail for Metro Tucson and points west.

Temperatures are expected to drop into the upper 90s tomorrow through the weekend. Early next week features a storm system clipping the Four Corners, leading to daytime highs in the upper 80s to low 90s.
