A close call with triple digit heat

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - No 100s in the forecast, but awfully close the next few days.

Highs this afternoon through Saturday reach the upper 90s, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Temperatures the remainder of the week run roughly 10° above average for early October standards. Sunshine prevails in the Old Pueblo through early next week.

The only weather of significance is an isolated thunderstorm threat today & tomorrow east of Tucson. Favored areas for these hit & miss storms looks to be along and east of a Safford-Tombstone-Bisbee line.

Drier weather settles in area-wide by Friday.

Early next week features high pressure loosening its grip on the Grand Canyon State. Temperatures drop to the low to mid 90s starting Sunday.

Watch Jeff for a complete look at your 4WARN extended forecast today at noon. Follow Jeff's weather updates on FacebookTwitter and his blog.
