8 TUSD schools get 'F' grades from state

Eight schools in the Tucson Unified School District received failing grades from the state.

Seven schools received an A.

This is the first set of grades given out by the Arizona State Board of Education since 2014. Schools are graded on an A-F scale.

TUSD superintendent Gabriel Trujillo will hold a press conference at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday to address the scores.

Schools with A grades:

  • Collier Elementary School
  • Fruchthendler Elementary School
  • Gale Elementary School
  • Sam Hughes Elementary
  • Soleng Tom Elementary School
  • University High School
  • Van Buskirk Elementary School

Schools with F grades:

  • Anna Lawrence Intermediate School
  • Cavett Elementary School
  • Drachman Primary Magnet School
  • Maldonado Amelia Elementary School
  • Ochoa Elementary School
  • Pistor Middle School
  •  Secrist Middle School
  • Valencia Middle School
