The world's first stratospheric launch facility, Spaceport Tucson, successfully completed its inaugural launch.

The facility's 700 foot diameter launch pad will launch commercial and scientific missions to the stratosphere.

Spaceport Tucson will launch long duration, advanced stratospheric balloons.

The balloons are capable of carrying pay-loads and are said to combine  the benefits of low orbit satellites and high altitude drones.

World View has hopes of bringing new commercial business to Tucson with the opening of Spaceport Tucson.
