Border patrol trainees set to graduate

Posted: Updated:

The Tucson Sector Border Patrol has hired 44 new agent trainees in September.

They will be headed for assignments at the Douglas, Ajo and Willcox stations, following graduation.

All newly hired trainees are required to complete a 66-day basic training program, including instruction in law, operations, driver training, physical techniques and firearms. Trainees who fail to pass an initial Spanish examination have to stay at the Academy for an additional 40-days. They attend Spanish task-based language training.
