TUCSON - The Monsoon officially ends on Saturday. Before then, some portions of Southern Arizona could see their rain totals get a late boost.
While mostly sunny skies prevail for Metro Tucson, isolated storms are possible to wrap the work week near the Arizona/New Mexico border. According to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish, there is a 20% chance of storms today through Friday along & east of a Show Low-Safford-Douglas line. Favored areas for storms look to be the White Mountains.
Storm development is being driven by a storm system kicking through Northern Arizona. Tucson will remain on the back side of this feature, equating to dry conditions and highs in the 90s.
High pressure building south of the border drives a warming trend heading into October. Expect mid 90s for highs Thursday through early next week, running 4-6° above average. Lows drop to the 60s starting tomorrow night.
