September warmth wanes

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - An Autumn feel is fast approaching.

A slow-moving storm system advances toward the state from the Pacific Northwest in the coming days. Gusty winds develop this afternoon, lingering through Friday. Expect southwest winds in the 15-25 MPH range this afternoon, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish.

Patchy blowing dust can't be ruled out along I-10 this week, mainly around Picacho Peak & the Willcox Playa.

Daytime highs peak in the mid 90s today. Temperatures by the upcoming weekend & early next week reach the mid to upper 80s, roughly 5-10° below average. Overnight lows early next week crash to the upper 50s for much of Metro Tucson.

Sunshine prevails into early next week.

Watch Jeff for a complete look at your 4WARN extended forecast today at noon. Follow Jeff's weather updates on FacebookTwitter and his blog.
