TUCSON - The Sonoran Wind Machine cranks up to wrap the work week.
A storm system passes north of Arizona today, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. This feature cranks up southwest winds to the 10-20 MPH range. Daytime highs peak in the mid 90s, which is on par with mid-September normals.
There is a slight chance of an isolated storm east of Tucson today. Rain chances for Cochise, Graham and Greenlee Counties sit at 10% during the afternoon & early evening hours.
Rain chances may return early next week as moisture from Tropical Storm Norma rides up the Gulf of California. Expect isolated metro storms each day with highs in the mid 90s. The bulk of this tropical moisture should stay east of the Sonoran Desert.
