Department of Public Safety troopers arrested two people and seized about 300 pounds of marijuana following a pursuit on Interstate 10, on Sept. 7.

The troopers, who are part of Operation Stonegarden, tried to stop a 2010 Ford pickup truck on I-10 near State Route 83, according to a Customs and Border Protection news release.

However, troopers said the driver failed to stop.

A DPS helicopter was used to track the vehicle until the truck came to a stop, according to a news release.

That’s when DPS troopers arrested the two people inside the car near Irvington and Palo Verde, according to CBP.

Troopers also seized the marijuana which is estimated to be worth about $150,000, according to officials.
