A man with a warrant and two drug smugglers were arrested in separate incidents over the weekend. Their vehicles were stopped by Yuma Sector Border Patrol agents, near Dome Valley.

On Saturday, agents conducted a vehicle inspection on a 2002 Ford Focus. While performing records checks on both individuals, agents discovered an active warrant for probation violations on the male passenger, identified as a U.S. citizen and convicted felon. Agents then searched the vehicle and found a loaded handgun – reported stolen – brass knuckles and drug paraphernalia. They called the Yuma County Sheriff’s Office, who then took custody of the man, drug paraphernalia and handgun.

Also near Dome Valley, a Border Patrol canine located more than 6 pounds of methamphetamine, two handguns and ammunition. The vehicle occupants, a 51-year-old male legal permanent resident and his 28-year-old son, a U.S. citizen, were arrested for narcotics smuggling.
