LEBANON, N.H.  - One person is in custody after an active-shooter report at a New Hampshire hospital, according to the city’s website.

The Lebanon Police Department in cooperation with mutual aid agencies is investigating a serious incident at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center. For emergency medical issues, please call 911. Everyone with a non-emergent medical issue is asked to seek attention at an alternate facility. Updates will be provided as more information becomes available.

Lebanon police said Tuesday there were reports of an active shooter at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center, the state’s largest hospital. People were told to avoid the area, and traffic was stopped on a route leading to the hospital. There has been no confirmation of a shooting.

Hospital spokesman Mike Barwell says that Dartmouth-Hitchcock was locked down and that local and state police are on site.

WCAX-TV reports an employee said all workers received an email from the hospital about a "code siler," telling them to get out if possible and otherwise to shelter in place.

The state attorney general's office is investigating.
