Traffic investigators determined that the vehicle involved, a black Chevrolet Impala, had been stolen from a used car dealership a short time prior to the crash. Detectives determined that Herrera was traveling eastbound on River Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control of the car.

UPDATE: Eastbound lanes on River Road have been reopened just in time for morning rush hour traffic.

Both westbound lanes on River Road between Via Entrada and 1st Avenue will remain closed for another half hour, according to Tucson Police.

The cause of the fatal single rollover crash is still under investigation.

UPDATE: One person died early Tuesday morning in a single vehicle rollover crash on River Road, according to Tucson Police.

The driver was heading eastbound when his vehicle rolled over just after 3 A.M. No other passengers were in his car.

The crash has forced police to shut down River Road in both directions while the crash is being investigated.

Police are currently investigating if alcohol or speed was a factor.
