Here are some "fun facts" on the Cats as they gear up for their bus ride to El Paso, compliments of Arizona Athletics:

» Arizona renews a rivalry with former WAC and Border Conference foe UTEP.

» The Wildcats have won 12 straight in this series, only five meetings have occurred since UA left the WAC in 1977 (most recent meeting was 42-7 UA win in 2003 in Tucson).

» Since last playing on the road at UTEP in 1977, UA has twice played in the Sun Bowl (1985 and 1992).

» Arizona is 47-60-4 in road openers, including 3-2 under Rich Rodriguez.

» Under Rodriguez, UA is 18-3 in non-conference games with a 4-0 mark in true road games (6-2 away from home).

» Arizona’s roster features 48 players in their first or second year in the program. The Cats have used 8 first-time starters.

» UA has played 24 freshman, including 14 true freshman, in the first two games.

» Junior S Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles has three interceptions in the first two games, matching his career tally prior to 2017.

» This week’s trip to El Paso is the second-shortest (of six) for the Wildcats this season. Only the ride to Tempe is shorter.

» UA’s defense pitched a second-half shut outlast week (two points via safety). The last time UA shut out an FBS opponent in the final two quarters was Oregon St. in 2015.

» Freshmen have totaled 59 of UA’s 128 tackles (46.1%) through two games.

» The Cats have picked off multiple passes (five total) in consecutive games for the first time since 2013.
