September sizzle settles in

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - A whole lot of heat & little storm action for the Old Pueblo.

High pressure over Colorado & New Mexico supplies Tucson's 66th triple digit day of the year. Metro highs peak in the 100-103° range this afternoon, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Enough moisture is present to produce a few isolated storms between 1-7 PM. Pima County is the favored area for these spotty storms.

The atmosphere dries out the remainder of the work week. Highs reach the 100s through Thursday, dropping into the mid to upper 90s Friday through the weekend.

Long range models indicate isolated storm chances by the weekend, courtesy of tropical moisture moving up from the Gulf of California.

Watch Jeff for a complete look at your 4WARN extended forecast today at noon. Follow Jeff's weather updates on FacebookTwitter and his blog.
