A family of three will be staying with family after a fire forced them from their home near South Placita Costa Rica.

Tucson Fire Dept. says a female resident noticed the glow of a fire coming from near an electrical outlet around 10:35pm Friday night.

The family evacuated the home and called 911.

One of the family members grabbed a garden hose and began to fight the fire from outside of their home.

Responding units arrived at the scene and made their way into house to search for the fire.

TFD units found the majority of the fire had been taken care of by the resident with the hose.

The fire crews were able to extinguish the small fire that remained.

Both the residents and responding crews were unharmed.

The family of two adults and one child are staying with family.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
