Monsoon, where art thou?

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - Our Summer storm season appears to be on the ropes.

Dry air continues to trek across the Sonoran Desert, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. This easterly flow aloft allows for mostly sunny skies, as well as some gusty winds this afternoon. Highs reach the 100s for the 57th time this year. Expect easterly winds in the 10-20 MPH range through this evening.

Thunder-free conditions prevail through Sunday as highs peak around 100-103°.

Models indicate a slight uptick in moisture by Labor Day, courtesy of a tropical system passing through Southern Baja California. Tucson stands a 10% chance of storms Monday and Tuesday with highs in the upper 90s.

Watch Jeff for a complete look at your 4WARN extended forecast today at noon. Follow Jeff's weather updates on FacebookTwitter and his blog.
