Monsoon storm chances fading

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - The final stages of Monsoon 2017 are starting to appear.

Dry air wins the battle of our Summer storm season over the next 7 days, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Much like yesterday, there is a slight chance at an evening storm in Metro Tucson. Favored areas for isolated storms today will be in Graham and Greenlee Counties.

For the 56th time this year, the Old Pueblo reaches triple digit territory. Thunder-free conditions prevail the remainder of the work week as highs continue to top out in the 100s.

Moisture values may bump up a bit by Labor Day weekend, thanks to a developing tropical system near Gulf of California. While isolated storms may pop up Sunday and Monday, the bulk of the deep tropical moisture likely stays well south of the Sonoran Desert.

Watch Jeff for a complete look at your 4WARN extended forecast today at noon. Follow Jeff's weather updates on FacebookTwitter and his blog.
