Monsoon 2017 shows a pulse

TUCSON - Monsoon storms sweep through Tucson on Saturday with gusty winds and heavy rain. 

Monsoon 2017 made another appearance in Tucson on Saturday evening with wind gusts to 41mph at Davis-Monthan and 38mph at Tucson International. Some areas also saw some heavy rain with Vail Ranch picking up 0.75" of rain and Davis-Monthan picking up 0.35".

Tucson International Airport, where official records are kept for Tucson, only picked up a 0.04" of rain so the monsoon total will sit at 8.54" on the season which is still well above average. 

Storm chances drop to 10% for much of the upcoming week.

    Tucson Police are on the scene of a reported shooting in the central part of the city. Officers responded to the call at approximately 9:15 a.m. Thursday near North Alvernon and East Third Street. Right now, there is no word on suspects, or the condition of the person who was shot.
