Border Patrol agents seized about 40 pounds of hard drugs from a vehicle at the Interstate 8 check point east of Yuma, on Saturday.

Agents referred a 19-year-old Arizona man to secondary inspection to further search his Jeep Grand Cherokee, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection.

A canine alerted agents to an order where they found several packages of methamphetamine and heroine estimated to be worth $400,000, according to a CBP news release.

Agents arrested the driver and seized the narcotics.
