Scattered storms set to strike

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - The Monsoon looks to make noise for the midway point of the work week.

Ample moisture & a mid level disturbance leads to scattered storm development today, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Metro Tucson stands a 40% chance of storms between 2-8 PM. Favored areas for storms during the afternoon & evening hours will be Santa Cruz and Cochise Counties.

Blowing dust, gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall are possible with today's storms. The dust storm danger on I-10 looks to be during the late day & early evening hours.

Storm chances decrease to the isolated variety to wrap up the work week. Scattered storms may return by Sunday as highs peak in the 100s.
