Monsoon moisture missing in action

Posted: Updated:

TUCSON - Storms cease to exist again this afternoon.

Dry Pacific air continues its ambush on Arizona, according to 4WARN Meteorologist Jeff Beamish. Sunshine prevails today as highs reach the upper 90s in Tucson. Temperatures continue to threaten triple digit territory through the weekend.

Monsoon moisture slowly start to return by Saturday, leading to scattered storms along the International Border. While a stray storm can't be ruled out in Tucson by Sunday, scattered storms still appear to arrive Monday & Tuesday. Each day features a 30% chance of metro thunder.

Numerous computer models agree that Monday's storms will be confined to the afternoon & early evening hours. Much of Southern Arizona should see mostly sunny skies for Monday morning's partial solar eclipse.

Watch Jeff for a complete look at your 4WARN extended forecast today at noon. Follow Jeff's weather updates on FacebookTwitter and his blog.
