Apartment storm damage draw crowds on the eastside

Posted: Updated:

Damage from a microburst was surveyed by professionals and gawkers alike at an eastside apartment complex the day after the storm.

Hundreds of people pulled over their vehicles to take photos of mature trees that toppled over The Woodridge Apartments.

At least five trees, some more than fifty feet tall fell. The exposed roots were more than ten feet tall and ripped up sidewalk as the tree was uprooted.

Six apartment unites had visible signs indicating they were not safe to enter. The Red Cross helped six families and a total of eight people last night.

Firefighters helped rescue two people from their units. No one was injured.
