Road closures next week

Tucson - This in to News 4 Tucson from the Grant Road Improvement Project:

Beginning Monday, August 14 through Wednesday, August 16, from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, water lines will be installed across northbound Stone Avenue at Sahuaro Street. During this time, residents and the traveling public can expect the following:

• Sahuaro Street will be temporarily closed on northbound Stone Avenue

o No turns will be permitted from Stone Avenue to eastbound Sahuaro Street

o No left turns will be permitted from northbound Stone Avenue to westbound Sahuaro Street

• Stone Avenue will be reduced to one through lane at Sahuaro Street

• Speed limits will be reduced to 25 MPH

• Expect delays

On Tuesday, August 15, from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m., the contractor will install underground utilities along Park Avenue from Grant Road to Edison Street. During this work, Park Avenue will be temporarily closed from Grant Road to Edison Street. Resident access will be maintained from surrounding streets.

Beginning Wednesday, August 16 through Thursday, August 17, from 5 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day, the contractor will install underground utilities along Sixth Avenue, south of Grant Road. During this work, no left turns will be permitted from northbound Sixth Avenue to westbound Grant Road. 

The traveling public can expect delays when driving in this work area. Please obey all traffic control signs and watch for construction personnel and equipment in the work zone.
