A Tucson Police officer, still in his probationary period with the department, was arrested and charged with domestic violence.
Michael Sauber, who was hired in April 2016, was arrested Saturday after police say he was involved in an off-duty domestic violence incident involving a weapon on Friday, according to a TPD news release.
"Because the allegations were criminal in nature, the Department initiated criminal and administrative investigations into Mr. Sauber’s conduct, according to the release.
He was charged with domestic violence/aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (a class 3 felony), aggravated assault with a deadly weapon (a Class 3 felony), and disorderly conduct (a class 6 felony).
All employees are on probation for the first 18 months after they're hired.
