Rich Rodriguez meets with media at start of fall camp

Posted: Updated:

Arizona head football coach Rich Rodriguez met with local media for 20 minutes before the start of fall camp, discussing everything from position battles to his frustration with the NCAA's rule change voting system.

Rodriguez acknowledged Arizona's need to recover from last year's 3-9 record. The coach talked about players "not being mad enough" at losses, among other issues with last year's team. Rodriguez also said he's been studying up on nutrition to help his team avoid the litany of injuries Arizona has suffered though the past few seasons.

The team is optimistic it can improve. Junior wide receiver Shun Brown responded to a question about Pac-12 media picking Arizona last in the South Division with a statement.

"We see the outside stuff, and a lot of people sleeping on us right now, but during the season we're gonna wake them up," said Brown.
