Neglected roofs can cause some major issues this time of year.
Aaron Holmes from Arizona Roofing Solutions said knowing the age of your roof is key. Most roofs last ten to twenty years.
If your roof is in that age range, it is best to be proactive and schedule annual or bi-annual roof inspections with a licensed contractor. Most local companies will conduct a free annual roof inspection.
Aaron said homeowners can spot potential issues themselves as well. Visually inspect under the eves of your home to see if there is any of the paint is peeling off of the wood.
That is a sign of water damage. On the inside of your home, look for small indentations in your walls and ceilings. They form around where the fasteners hold drywall in place and are a sign of moisture.
Aaron stresses that you don't need a roof problem to have a roof inspection. Being proactive can save you money down the road.
