Tucson Living: Common maintenance issues with Tucson home listings

Posted: Updated:

Many homes that are listed right now have major maintenance issues, and according to Tucson real estate professionals there are steps you can take to maintain your home.

These issues can sometimes delay or stop a sale. Jennifer Philips, with Gateway Partners at Realty Executives, said a lot of the issues they are seeing right now are roofs and air conditioning units.

She suggested that you make sure you are maintaining those areas of your home year-round. Always make sure your roofs are clear of debris and that trees are cut back so they're not touching. Get your air conditioning inspected and serviced on a regular basis. Ideally, before it get's too hot or too cold. Also, make sure you change your air filter every thirty days.

Jennifer said the goal is to always minimize the list of repairs requested during an inspection period. Getting a pre-inspection for your home and making those repairs before listing it will make for a smooth sales process.
