Tucson Living: New stingray exhibit at the Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch

Posted: Updated:

The Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch located near Picacho Peak recently opened a new indoor stingray exhibit.

Co-Owner, Danna Cogburn-Barrett said it's their version of oceanfront property in Arizona. Unlike other stingray attractions, there is no set feeding time at the Ostrich Ranch. Danna said as many as ten to twelve stingrays will greet you looking for a snack at any time.

Danna said the mouths of the stingrays are located on their bottom. As they swim over your hand they suck up the food.

Stingrays do not have teeth, so you're never in danger of being bit. She added that with as many weird and quirky things they have at the ranch, the stingrays have become really popular, "because they're so stinking cool!"

The Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch is located just north of Tucson off of I-10. Visitor information can be found on their website.
