TUCSON - An active monsoon pattern remains in place for southern Arizona with more storms possible this weekend.

With a similar set up as the last several days, another round of strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible in southern Arizona late this afternoon and evening. Storms are developing in the higher elevations along the Mogollon Rim and White Mountains and working their way to the southwest as the day rolls on. Strong damaging wind gusts, blowing dust, hail and heavy rain are the threats with today's activity.

Prime-time for storms around Tucson will be after 5pm with some showers and storms lingering into the overnight hours. Depending on the morning cloud cover on Sunday, the trend of afternoon and evening thunderstorms should hold true again to round out the weekend. A mid-level disturbance may move through the area early next week to boost the rain chances to start the workweek.

Temperatures will top out around 100 degrees through the weekend and well into next week.
