Report: Padres ask about Sahuaro High grad Verdugo in trade talks

According to a report from Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, the San Diego Padres asked about Dodgers outfield prospect Alex Verdugo in trade talks regarding reliever Brad Hand.

Verdugo is a Sahuaro High grad and considered to be one of the top prospects in baseball, ranking #50 overall by MLB.com. Verdugo recently played in the MLB Futures game, representing Mexico and the AAA All-Star game, representing the Oklahoma City Dodgers. Verdugo is hitting .346 in 78 games in AAA this season.
