Brandon Ashley making summer league impression

Posted: Updated:

Former Arizona Wildcat Brandon Ashley could have a shot at making an NBA roster for the first time since going undrafted in 2015.

Ashley has played well in summer league for the Dallas Mavericks. He played in the Developmental League for Dallas, on their Texas Legends in 2016-17 after an overseas stint.

Ashley scored 21 points in his first summer league game for the Mavs, then added 14 points against the Suns Sunday.

According to Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, Ashley has a chance to make the roster:

The Mavericks are currently sitting at 13 players on their roster, leaving two spots to sign Ashley, along with one spot left in the new D-League two-way contract, which would allow Ashley to spend 45 days with the Mavericks during the season and get paid $75,000 during the season.
