It's important to know the warning signs of heat-related illnesses.

According to the Arizona Department of Health Services, heat exhaustion is a precursor to heat stroke.

Someone coming down with heat exhaustion might feel faint, nauseous and sweaty,

having:

  • Cool, pale and clammy skin.
  • Muscle cramps and a rapid, weak pulse

Heat stroke symptoms include:

  • Throbbing headache
  • No signs of sweating
  • Red hot skin
  • Nausea
  • Rapid, strong pulse
  • Loss of consciousness
