Coach Tony Amato and the U of A women's soccer team are excited about another upcoming season.  The Lady Wildcats have high hopes for another post-season run.  Here's more from Arizona Athletics:

The University of Arizona women's soccer team is set to kick off the regular season on the road on Aug. 18 at 5 p.m. MST against Oklahoma in Norman, Okla. Also, as announced by the Pac-12, the Wildcats will play in seven matches that are scheduled to be aired live on the Pac-12 Networks. Five of the seven televised matches will be played at home at Mulcahy Stadium.

Game action will begin on Friday, Aug. 11 with a pair of exhibition matches against Grand Canyon at 7 p.m. MST in Tucson followed by one at UTEP on Sunday, Aug. 13 in El Paso, Texas at noon MST. The Wildcats will have one more exhibition match at home against Beijing Normal University on Monday, Aug. 21 at 6 p.m. MST, which will be aired on the Pac-12 Networks.

As for the regular season matches, 10 of them will be at the friendly confines of Mulcahy Stadium while eight will be on the road. The home matches include UC Irvine (home opener on Friday, Aug. 25), Florida Gulf Coast, Texas Tech, BYU, Oregon, USC, UCLA, Washington, Washington State and Arizona State. Arizona will travel to Oklahoma, Stanford, California, Oregon State, Utah, Colorado and will face Central Florida and Boston in Tempe, Ariz.

The matches against Florida Gulf Coast and Texas will be a part of the Arizona Cats Classic, which is set to begin on Sept. 8 at Mulcahy Stadium and Pac-12 play begins with Oregon on Sept. 23.

Last season, head coach Tony Amato led the Wildcats to an 9-9-1 (4-7 Pac-12) record. Amato is entering his fifth year at the helm of the Arizona women's soccer team, and the program has only risen in stature since his arrival. In his four years as head coach, the Wildcats have a record of 43-29-9, the most wins in a four-year stretch in program history. Prior to his arrival, the Wildcats won nine games in a season just three times. In Amato's time at Arizona, the Wildcats have won at least nine games in each season and have made two appearances to the NCAA Tournament with one Sweet 16 appearance.

Season tickets for the 2017 season are currently on sale at the McKale Ticket Office and you can also purchase them by calling 520-621-CATS or visiting ArizonaWildcats.com.
