4 Your Health: Acupuncture in the ER; diverse middle schools are best

Posted: Updated:

Tucson- Students of all races benefit from attending ethnically diverse middle schools.

Researchers at UCLA surveyed six graders from 26 urban middle schools in California. African American, Asian, Latino and white students in diverse schools said they felt safer, had better attitudes and believed they were treated fairly.

It was also important that students were placed in diverse classrooms within these schools.

ER Acupuncture

A new Australian study reveals acupuncture could be an effective alternative to painkillers for emergency room patients.

Researchers followed over 500 people who came to the ER with severe pain.

Although most patients did not feel immediate relief from acupuncture or drugs, 48 hours later, both groups had similar levels of pain reduction.
