Naked man attacks DPS trooper

A Department of Public Safety trooper is recovering after being attacked by a naked man.

DPS officials say the trooper was attacked after finding a car stopped on the side of I-17 near Flagstaff.

When the officer approached the car he saw a nude man lying down in the median.

The naked man then attacked the officer, hitting him several times with his fists.

Officials say the suspect then jumped back in his car, rammed the officer's vehicle several times, and then drove off the wrong way down I-17.

After making it several miles the suspect crashed his car into a rock embankment and flipped over.

When officer's approached the car they found a 4-year-old boy in the backseat.

The suspect has been identified as Montrais Boyd Sr. of Westminster, California.

He has been arrested and is now in the Coconino County Jail for aggravated assault with a dangerous instrument, felony endangerment, child abuse and criminal damage charges.

Officials say the child is okay and has bee reunited with his mother.
