Arizona Volleyball Releases 2017 Schedule

Coach Dave Rubio and the U of A Volleyball team are already getting excited about the upcoming season.  Here's more from Arizona Athletics:

Arizona volleyball announced its 2017 schedule on Thursday, revealing a 31-match slate that includes 16 home matches to be played at McKale Center. Thirteen of Arizona's 20 conference matches will be televised by the Pac-12 Network.
 
The Wildcats' 2017 schedule includes 14 matches to be played against NCAA Tournament teams from a season ago, including six matches against fellow Sweet 16 teams from 2016, with two matches vs. defending NCAA Champion Stanford.
 
Arizona, which finished 2016 ranked 20th in the final AVCA poll, will face seven teams ranked in the final 2016 poll as well: #1 Stanford (Sept. 29, Oct. 29), #6 UCLA (Oct. 4, Nov. 3), #7 Washington (Nov. 22), #13 Florida State (Sept. 9), #21 Oregon (Oct. 20, Nov. 11), #24 Washington State (Sept. 23) and #25 Utah (Oct. 13, Nov. 18).
 
The Wildcats are coming off a 20-15 season a season ago that included its fourth consecutive trip to the NCAA Tournament (28th overall) and its eighth Sweet 16 in program history after its upset of national No. 9 seed Michigan State.
 
Arizona's quest for its fifth straight NCAA Tournament begins in Nashville, Tenn., where the Wildcats will compete in the season-opening LUV Invitational. The Wildcats open with East Tennessee State and host Lipscomb on Saturday, Aug. 26 before concluding the Invitational with Middle Tennessee on Sunday, Aug. 27.
 
The Wildcats will open the home slate with the Cactus Classic Sept. 1 and 2. Arizona will welcome Eastern Kentucky, Grand Canyon and Radford for the two day, six-match event. UA opens the Classic vs. Eastern Kentucky on Friday, Sept. 1 at 12:30 p.m. before facing Grand Canyon at 7 p.m. MST. Arizona and Radford conclude the tournament on Saturday, Sept. 2 at 1 p.m. MST.
 
The Cats then hit the road for the final time in nonconference play for a pair of games in Tallahassee, Fla. UA will take on Florida A&M on Sept. 8 and Florida State on Sept. 9.
 
Arizona then returns home for the nonconference finale, hosting the Wildcat Classic Sept. 15 and 16. On Friday, Sept. 15, the Cats face William & Mary and New Mexico State at 12:30 p.m. and 7 p.m., respectively, before concluding the even vs. Illinois State on Saturday, Sept. 16 at 1 p.m. MST.
 
UA opens Pac-12 play in Tempe vs. Arizona State on Pac-12 Arizona (Thursday, Sept. 21) before hosting Washington State (Saturday, Sept. 23).
 
The Cats then hit the road to face defending NCAA Champion Stanford (Friday, Sept. 29) and California (Sunday, Oct. 1), with both matches on the Pac-12 Network.
 
Up next, Arizona will return to McKale Center for four consecutive home games. Arizona hosts UCLA (Wednesday, Oct. 4), USC (Friday, Oct. 6), Utah (Friday, Oct. 13) and Colorado (Sunday, Oct. 15) during the home stand. Arizona's matches vs. the Bruins and the Trojans will be on the Pac-12 Network.
 
UA wraps up the first half of Pac-12 play Oregon, taking on the Beavers in Corvallis on Wednesday, Oct. 18 and the Ducks in Eugene on Friday, Oct. 20. Both matches will be televised on the Pac-12 Network.
 
Arizona begins the second half of conference play at home, hosting California (Friday, Oct. 27) and Stanford (Sunday, Oct. 29). Both matches will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network.
 
The Cats then head to Los Angeles to face UCLA on Friday, Nov. 3 and USC on Sunday, Nov. 5. The Cats' match vs. the Trojans will be televised by the Pac-12 Network.
 
Up next, Arizona welcomes Oregon State (Thursday, Nov. 9) and Oregon (Saturday, Nov. 11) to McKale Center. UA's match with the Beavers will be televised by the Pac-12 Network.
 
The Cats then hit the road for their final three road matches of the year at Colorado (Friday, Nov. 17), Utah (Saturday, Nov. 18) and Washington (Wednesday, Nov. 22). The Cats and the Huskies will be carried by the Pac-12 Network.
 
Arizona wraps up the 2017 regular season at home vs. Arizona State (Friday, Nov. 24) on the Pac-12 Network.
 
The NCAA Tournament bracket will be revealed on Sunday, Nov. 26 with the first round beginning on Nov. 30.
