Ajo -

Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents from the Ajo Station arrested a previously deported MS-13 gang member Sunday night near Lukeville.

Agents arrested David Lopez-Paz, a 38-year-old Mexican national, for illegally entering the United States. During processing, agents conducted a records check on Lopez-Paz and learned he is affiliated with the MS-13 gang and served more than 100 days in jail for a previous arrest on criminal immigration violations.

Lopez-Paz will remain in federal custody pending criminal re-entry immigration charges.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials welcome assistance from the community. Citizens can report suspicious activity to the Border Patrol and remain anonymous by calling 1-877-872-7435 toll free.
