Tucson- Some alarming new statistics about teens and car accidents as we enter the 100 deadliest days of summer.

Fatal crashes involving teen drivers increased more than 10 percent in one year according to AAA.

New teen drivers are three times as likely as adults to be involved in a deadly accident.

Distracted driving plays a role in more than half of crashes involving teens and 60 percent of teen drivers killed were not wearing a seat belt. 

Food allergy numbers

About three and a half percent of Americans have a documented food allergy or intolerance.
That's according to medical records from more than 2.7 million patients.

Shellfish is the most commonly reported food allergy and women are more likely than men to have an allergy.

Asian Americans had more food allergies than any other race or ethnicity.
