UPDATE: Joshua Lelevier, the stepfather arrested in the death of 13-year-old Jayden Glomb, appeared in video court Thursday morning.
He is being held on a $500,000 bond.His next court date is June 12.
According to Sergeant Pete Dugan, Jayden Glomb's stepfather Joshua Lelevier, 37, was arrested and charged with first-degree murder and concealing a dead body in the death of the 13-year-old.
Glomb's cause of death has been determined to be asphyxiation.
TPD released this information three weeks after Jayden Glomb's body was found in the desert near Vail.
Police served a search warrant on Wednesday, May 31, Sgt. Pete Dugan said the warrant was in the 12000 block of East Buchman Canyon Drive in Vail, the home of Jayden Glomb, whose body was discovered May 11, one day after she was reported missing.
Jayden was found dead in the 10100 block of South Steve Street near Mary Ann Cleveland Way between Empire and Cienega high schools, east of Houghton Road. She was reported missing the night before.
Police said a worker at a housing development was driving out of the area late Thursday morning when he saw what he believed to be a female body in the desert area near the roadway and called 911.
It’s been nearly three weeks since Jayden was found. Residents in the area have been worried in the weeks leading up to Wednesday’s arrest.
"I let my kid walk to school and now I kind of feel like, should I still let him do that?” said Amanda Jesson one week after Jayden’s body was discovered.
