FC Tucson returns home to the Old Pueblo for Friday night game

Posted: Updated:

The FC Tucson soccer team is gearing up for a home game this Friday at the Kino Sports Complex.  Here's more from the team's communication's staff:

After nearly a month away from home, FC Tucson returns to Kino Friday, June 2nd as they take on FC Boulder U23.

The Men in Black are fresh off a 5-0 thrashing of the Colorado side, closing out a rough month of traveling that included trips to San Diego, Albuquerque, and two separate visits to Colorado for both PDL and U.S. Open Cup matches.

At the end of it, Tucson sits on top of the Mountain Division standings with 10 point from six matches played, giving the Men in Black at least four games in hand over the entire division.

While the road has been a burden in terms of traveling, head coach Jon Pearlman believes it’s also helped the side grow.

“There’s something to be said about being stuck in vans on top of each other for hours on end. In terms of chemistry and team bonding, it helps build that cohesiveness that is maybe missing early in the season,” Pearlman said.

Finishing tends to be the last thing to come when building chemistry in a new side, and if the last match is any indication, the vans have served the team well.

Moshe Perez put away the first hat-trick of the season in the last meeting with Boulder, while midfielder Daniel Krutzen continued his hot streak, scoring his third goal in the last four matches while also adding an assist.
